IELTS !! British Council Vs AEO ... Which one is Ideal For Pakistani Students?
IELTS is generally recognized as a reliable and approved means of measuring whether candidates are ready to study or training in the medium of English. Sometimes it becomes really hard for the students to decide that taking which  exam would bring more career prospects to them. I have tried to explain this simple thing in this article and it would help you overcome the whole myth. So, let's start, feallas!

IELTS is owned by three partners;
ü            The British Council,
ü            IDP Education Australia
ü          University of Cambridge ESOL Examination

It was established in 1989 and recognized by more than 6000 institutions; including 2,000 US universities recognized IELTS in over 135 countries. An IELTS result or Test Report Form (TRF) is valid for two years.
IELTS is mutually taken and managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
AEO    is an association office of top Australian universities. AEO has a good reputation in Pakistan.  It gives support to students who want to study in Australia and facilitate the process. AEO conducts IELTS test twice a month in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
There is a very little difference between AEO and British Council  Question papers. Both conduct the same IELTS, as question papers are sent by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

As you all know, IELTS consists of four Modules: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
Two Modules Listening and Reading are the same in both AEO and British council as there is an answer key to the questions which taken by examiners. The remaining two modules Writing and Speaking contains a great marking difference.
There is a little difference in the fee of both exams bodies
Students can visit AEO offices while British Council only accepts communication through some branches of Standard Chartered Bank.
The British Council has just one benefit that they provide wireless headphones for Listening that is good for Candidates.
Both British Council and AEO for IELTS have similar international standards and British Council has an advantage over AEO in terms of wireless headphones on listening test.

A Candidate can get support with British Council IELTS.

Which exam should Pakistani Students take?

This question really confused me when I was planning to take on IELTS exam back then in 2014 but I figured it out later. It is mainly determined by your purpose. If you are going to Australia then you should just forget about the British Council, although British Council is being warmly welcomed across the globe, but it won’t bring any good for you if you are just certain about landing in Australia.
If you are planning for immigration no matter in what country you should choose AEO because you aren’t going to get yourself enrolled in some college or university. It is preferable that you should opt British Council if you are planning to move into some European country for education purpose. It might give you some leverage. And secondly, there are chances that you would feel less comfortable while taking AEO exam, but the problem could arise in the Listening part because AEO won’t provide you headphones to listen while attempting the paper. That might cause a little problem, but if you had practiced enough then it won’t be any trouble for you.

  2. There is no difference in IELTS exam... Since the exam paper is the same.. they just different bodies, but yes the mode of payment is different. You have to make a bank draft ( which requires u should be account holder and pay through check only if in Pakistan). For listening test there are no headphones in aeo , only speaker in the hall for audio.
